If you've ever wondered 

where the coffee table should 

sit in your living room 

or 

how high the chandelier

 should be above your

 dining room table, 

then this week's blog is for you.

Coffee Tables:

 The distance between a coffee table & a sofa should be 14-18".

Area Rugs: 

A rug should be 24" wider & longer than the dining table it sits under so the chairs remain on the area rug when pulled out.

Lighting: 

A light fixture should be 32-34" above the dining room table. When ceilings are higher then 8' remember to add 3" to the rule above for each additional foot.

Thirds: 

Artwork that hangs above a piece of furniture should be two-thirds the size of the furniture piece that it hangs over.

Art: 

A piece of art should be hung at eye level. It should measure between 65-67" from the floor.

One last helpful hint: 

One gallon of paint will approximately cover 350-400 square feet.
