Furniture Placement...

Where do I put the sofa?

How many times
have we asked ourselves
this question.

Whether it's time
to give your living room
a new look
or your moving into a new home,
furniture placement
can be a struggle.

The easiest way
to arrange furniture
is to find your focal point
 &
place furniture around it.

In the picture shown above
we can easily see
that the focal point
is the fireplace.

Placing the sofas
 facing each other
 creates balance as well as
 a nice area for
entertaining.

If space is an issue
 and you just don't have
enough room for sofas
love seats, use chairs.

Place a nice ottoman
or coffee table in the middle
 of four chairs
 to create a cozy space.

Divide an
open concept space
with furniture.

Place a sofa
 facing away from the
 dining area to define
a space for
entertaining.

For something different
 consider placing
 the sofa diagonally
like seen in the photo above.

This will add
 some uniqueness
to the space that
 people would not expect.

Keep the following tips in mind:

1. Chairs should be no more than 8' apart.
2. Coffee tables should be no higher than the sofa cushions.
3. Coffee tables should be placed 14"-18" away from the couch.
